The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact in managing the individualized needs of justice engaged young persons in open detention/custody to support rehabilitation and reintegration.  The facility operates 24/7; the role involves shift work, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education in a related field, such as Child and Youth Care, Social Service Worker, Social Sciences or equivalent Post Secondary education
  • A current valid Ontario (G) Driver’s Licence
  • Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current immunizations and health assessment
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certificate Level C
  • Current Prevention & Management of Aggressive Behaviour (PMAB) Certificate
  • Minimum two (2) years related experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to make independent decision based on Policies & Procedures
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset

 

Work Location(s):             Genest Detention Centre for Youth

 

Starting Wage:                    $22.05 per hour

As part of the administration team, the successful candidate will work weekday shifts, Monday through Friday, totalling thirty two (32) hours per week.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Post Secondary education in Office Administration or Business program, or equivalent Post Secondary education
  • Current immunizations and health assessment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be an organized individual and possess excellent communication and time management skills
  • Experience with administrative duties, report preparation/distribution, filing, data input and project work
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in a busy, security conscious work environment
  • Candidates must provide a current Police Records Check with Vulnerable Position Screening
  • Post Secondary Education in related field
  • One (1) years work experience with administrative duties as the main focus
  • Bilingualism considered an asset

 

Work Location:       King Street Detention Centre – London, On

 

Starting Wage:        17.06 per hour plus benefits
